Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse.

wow

is this a joke because i’m not laughing at all

I thought to myself when I saw this, “no. This has to be some one being silly. This has to be something some one fabricated to make microsoft look worse and people just aren’t checking the source.”
NOPE. IT’S REAL.
AND IT GOT WORSE:

WHAT.

remember when the basic fucking concept of a commodity was that buying something meant it was yours

I want everyone to think long and hard on this information.
This means that you are not buying your games.  You are paying 60+ dollars to rent the games from Microsoft, and they can take their game back whenever they feel like it.
You will not own your game.  You will not own your console.  Essentially, Microsoft is saying “We can disable your games and cut you off from accessing your console whenever we choose to.”  Because a ban that locks your XBox Live account means that you will be locked out from all non-game functionality of the system, and by revoking your ‘licenses’ on all your games associated with your account, they can then disable each and every game you own for the system.  Leaving you with a five hundred dollar cable receiver.  Or, in the case of most users of the console, a five hundred dollar paperweight.
All because you accidentally walked into some online glitch and the rest of the players rage-report you for cheating.
This is unacceptable.  Buy any console but an XBox One.  Do not support Microsoft’s sudden belief that they own everything despite our purchase of it, and we have to prove we’re worthy of being shared with by paying exorbitant fees and jumping through constant hoops and hoping someone doesn’t report us for cheating because we made them mad in an online game.
Tell Microsoft ‘No,’ and do not give them your hard-earned money for what amounts to a video game subscription service with a $500 starting fee and $60+ dollar purchases.

There are way too many people that get banned unfairly. This is bullshit. I let my nephew play on my live account once when he was little, and I got a lot of people reporting me just because he was playing like a five year old. So. Cool.

Cant wait to buy One. Its funny how when Microsoft plans to do with games what Steam already did to games, and what Apple already did to music, that now microsoft is evil. You wont get banned for people rage reporting you. you can have your mic muted if people report you for being…annoying, like Loud static or screaming racist slurs. or force you to change your name if reported enough. They already have systems in place to check if your hardware and software is clean (not modded), so they can differentiate who is cheating. Currently if you get banned for legitimately cheating, your xbox360 gets banned and you cant play online with it. So its not a huge leap that an always online console wont let you play your games anymore if you are banned for cheating. especially if its stored on the console. Dont Cheat, dont play with cheaters, if you find yourself in a game/lobby with cheaters, leave quickly. Dont be an asshole or irritating online, dont give yourself a name like Cock Slammer, and you should be alright. if you do get banned randomly make sure you appeal.
so much fussing lately. its almost making me hope the PS4 flops so all the turds perpetuating the console war bullshit and buying the ps4 based solely on irrational hate for rules that dont even apply to them, end up buying the paperweight. ps4 going dreamcast mode… hahah sony is already in debt, they might go bankrupt if this consoled doesnt workout.

-Plan to Buy-

Dark Souls 2

Destiny

GTA5

BF4

Halo

Kingdom Hearts 3

-Might Buy-

Metal Gear

The Division

Titan Fall

:3 So happy they will all be the the Xbox One/360, where 8+ years of gaming friends have been made on XboxLive and we now get dedicated servers for multiplayer games.

,

From the herd like reaction of everyone towards Sony and against Xbox. I feel like Im the only person who doesnt buy used games. That buys them New and does not trade or give them away to random people. And the only person that didnt think Sonys presentation was good. Showing only 1 game that i might be interested in playing, Kingdom Hearts, but not enough that i would buy the PS4. But I do have a list of games that are on the Xbox One and 360 that seem worth buying. I guess when the Sony circle jerk stops and games become important again, maybe the childish bs will tone down… and it will be PS3 all over again.

Clear discrimination against men. Rather nice to see that this is one someone’s news, especially how men are views in society as all being potential pedophiles and rapists.

While this is not fun to have happen, until women stop being blamed for being raped, and POC get discriminated against or killed because of racist cops and profiling. Until there is no outrageous disparities between my peers (white cis gendered straight men) and EVERYONE ELSE in terms of opportunity, being free of harassment and prejudice, chances to have a good life and not be discriminated out of hand. Then you know what this just serves as a good way for my peers to get a TINY TINY taste of what everyone else goes through on a much larger level. You can be killed for being a young black man with a hoody. If someone makes sure I’m not a pedophile, and I get a minor inconvenience, seriously who gives a fuck about that. Until everyone is treated better I am not throwing myself a bullshit white man pity party. Damn.

Any minor inconvenience a peer of mine has, ESPECIALLY, at the cost of reducing the risk of bad shit happening to kids is INSIGNIFICANT and its shameful to compare it to all the other horrific shit that happens to people based on race, gender, orientation etc.

what am i reading…

I read this as… “Im glad people i assume to be privileged are being discriminated against. We should whip people so they know how it feels. And i wont care until everyone else’s issues are addressed first.”

I think i smell some inconsistency.

I am not glad at any discrimination, but do a few white guys being slightly inconvenienced need to have a extensive news piece done on them when there are so many greater incidences of discrimination occuring that are way more damaging and severe.. No they don’t, dont whine about this shit until the more damaging and hurtful cases of discrimination are dealt with. my white male inconvenience is so fucking far down on the list of things that need public discussion.

is what they are highlighting only affecting white men? or did it just turn out that their video piece featured white men? a systemic belief that men should be assumed to be sexual predators and pedophiles. wonder how that might effect things… might be a bigger issue then some would like to think it is, because a few “privilege white people” are show casing it. no problem here everyone. Though Im not sure how showing a bit of concern for an issue that might affect men and white people in anyway minimizes the need to address other cases of discrimination.

kinda like if two kids fall and scrape their knees, and i put a bandaid on 1 of their knees, then move to the second kid who is less badly hurt. my attending to the second kids needs does not mean that i care less about the first kid i helped. Nor does it mean that because one is less hurt that i should ignore the kid, when clearly both require medical attention.

it seems as though the paragraphs above mine would have me ignore the less hurt child. I’d rather address all of them in their own time and as their injuries require (scrapes = band aids, deep cuts = stitches).

———-separate idea———-
*humorous*
i get the feeling sometimes that people just want a never ending video reel of people suffering…. so we have something to feel strongly about.

—————————-

dismissing others (personal/systemic) pains, trials, and tribulations because they seem small/insignificant probably isnt a nice thing to do. …tho we all probably do it to some degree *thinks to self* yup.

Do you think its coincidental that its only white guys or maybe that the only people who would whine about such a minor inconvenience and get a 5 minute news piece. Yes once you triage the major problems, the bigger issues, then maybe address the minor inconvenience of a white guy feeling bad for a little while. The issues I am talking about and the issue youre talking about arent comparable to two kids with skinned knees. its more like an issue of a rape victim, a gun shot victim, a hate crime victim, and a bummed out white guy with skinned knees. Yeah eventually stick a bandaid on the poor childs knees and saying don’t be so sad, look at the suffering these people are enduring.

i see

Melanie Joy - Carnism: The Psychology of Eating Meat (by John McDougall)

Despite the fact that I haven’t eaten meat for most of my life (it’s been probably 18 years or more since I’ve had any type of meat), it was this video that finally convinced my parents to stop eating meat in their house.  This lecture is that good.  It’s not preachy and is an interesting sociological explanation of why people justify eating meat when it is no longer necessary for survival in many cultures.  The lecture contains only a small amount of video of factory farming which is not even the worst examples I’ve seen, and the speaker explains this as a necessary “bearing witness” to the truth.  I highly recommend watching this video!

been noticing a lot of microsoft hate recently and huge jump towards nintendo and sony. nintendo became a novelty last generation…they arent even on my radar anymore as a serious gaming platform. and Sony with their terrible security, over priced consoles, lack of games early on, bad online features, and a difficult architecture to program for last generation doesnt give them a good track record for being a reliable platform either. Then Microsoft comes out with their press conference for the Xbox One and makes the decision to let their people talk with Media. Their talking points were… sloppy. They should have done a better job clarifying what is still in the works. And that it was a more Entertainment and New System Feature heavy Press conference not to be confused with the Game heavy presentation we will likely get at E3. But while sonys conference showed a few seconds more game play, they were tight lipped and didnt talk to media. They didnt give themselves a chance to shoot themselves in the foot. They may be perusing similar features as the Xbox One, so its not the time to be heralding one as a Gaming Hero just yet. Lets wait for E3. Who knows maybe sony with get Games right next generation and Maybe Nintendo will be less of a novelty item. looking forward to having more platforms worth playing on.

so did that little Kinsey Scale Test thingy. It says Im X: Non-Sexual. Which is interesting, but not surprising. ha

“The Oxford English Dictionary accepts both pronunciations. They are wrong. It is a soft ‘G,’ pronounced ‘jif.’ End of story.”

na, its Gif, like Gift without the T. Just as holo is Horo. haha, if a population popularizes it one way the intentions of its creator are kinda irrelevant, especially when its a pronunciation. jif sounds like peanut butter.  */extremely solid argument* ha
